Can I use any logo or design for a custom branding iron? Yes — virtually any logo, signature, monogram, or custom design can be machined into a branding iron. Our design team reviews every submission and will advise on optimizing line weights, spacing, and sizing to ensure your brand impression is sharp and clear. We use CNC precision machining, so even intricate artwork can be accurately reproduced.
How do I submit my design? You can submit artwork directly through the product page at checkout or via our Quote Request page. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) are preferred for the best resolution, but high-resolution PDFs and JPEGs work as well. Our team will confirm your design and send a digital proof before production begins.
How long does production take for a custom order? Most custom branding iron orders are completed within 1-2 weeks from design approval. Complex or large industrial orders may take slightly longer. We will confirm a timeline with you after reviewing your artwork and specs.
Do you offer standard (non-custom) options? Absolutely. We stock a range of standard options including full alphabets, numbers, and common symbols — perfect if you need flexibility. We also offer personalized template irons (monograms, initials, western-style) that ship faster than fully custom orders and start at lower price points.

What's the difference between brass, copper and steel branding irons? Brass irons are milled offering extra relief and fine detail, making them the most versatile option for hardwoods, rough cut wood, leather, and plastics. We chemically etch our copper plates providing the finest detail for delicate or intricate designs. Steel irons are better suited for high-temperature flame heating and heavy-duty applications like steaks, pallets, and industrial marking. Our team can help you choose the right material for your specific use case.
Electric or flame-heated — which is right for me? Electric irons provide precise temperature control and consistent results all day — ideal for workshops, food service, retail, and detailed artistic work. They take 20–30 minutes to reach full operating temperature. Flame-heated irons are perfect for outdoor use, craft fairs, demonstrations, or anywhere electrical access is limited. They're extremely durable and portable.
What materials can be branded? Our irons are designed for a wide range of materials: wood, leather, food (burger buns, steaks, cheese, bread), tires, pallets & crates, bee boxes, valve box lids, sports balls, ice, fruit peel (zest), and large-scale industrial applications like utility poles and lumber. Each material has its own recommended temperature and technique — we provide guidance with every order.
USAGE & TEMPERATURE
What temperature should I use for leather vs. wood? General guidelines: Leather brands best between 375–425°F with a short dwell time between 1-2 seconds. Wood requires higher heat — 650–750°F — and slightly longer dwell times of 2-4 seconds. We recommend test branding scrap material to get a feel on how your final workpiece will behave under heat.
Are your food branding irons food-safe? Yes. Our food branding irons are made from food-safe aluminum or stainless steel and are designed specifically for direct contact with edible products — burger buns, steak, cheese, bread, citrus peel, and more. They are used by leading restaurants, hotels, and event caterers worldwide.

What warranty do your branding irons come with? Every BrandNew branding iron is backed by a full one-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Can I return or exchange my order? Because most of our products are custom-made to your specifications, returns on custom orders are generally not accepted unless there is a manufacturing defect.
